MEET THE MENTORS

AWANTI SAMBAREY

“My experience with FEA has been truly transformative, to say the least. The best part of the experience was interacting with the students. I was pleasantly surprised and quite impressed with their ambitions, despite their lack of exposure to their fields of interest. It was a good experience, & I got to learn a lot from the students. I think it was validating for the students to have people believe in them, and I really appreciate the initiative taken by FEA to support their dreams.”

SYAM PRASAD ANAND

“When I learnt about FEA, I immediately volunteered. FEA mentoring is just 1 hour per month. This is all they ask for. Mentoring gives me a sense of satisfaction and achievement. This is helping me as well. It is the need to 'give back'. I feel that the cause for which FEA stands and its purpose is very appealing to everyone. The sincerity of people who lead it encourages mentors like me to spread the word and ask more people to volunteer.”

SHUBHAM BANSAL

“I would like to thank FEA for considering me as a part of their mentorship program and providing a platform to interact & guide the students. Mentoring sessions were very interactive & enriching. Even I learned multiple things from these young and bright kids I thank FEA to make me part of their family and letting me contribute for the betterment of the society. I would really ask other professionals to come forward to be part of the FEA mentorship program.”

RAJAMANI SELVAM

“My first impression, Both the girls and the boys have big ambitions in life. Irrespective of their financial or familial situations, they are very hardworking and diligent. They are a wonderful group of kids who are optimistic that they “can” pursue their dreams and have a bright future. Spending an hour every month with the students gave me immense joy to guide them in their career of choice. I am honoured and extremely happy to be a part of the FEA mentoring program.”

ROHAN KHADILKAR

“Mentoring at FEA has been an exhilarating and enriching experience. The mentorship program has been carefully crafted for developing necessary skillsets in the youth. The format for the online sessions is interactive and discussion based; giving mentors a chance to give a personal touch to the mentoring sessions. My personal experience with FEA, It is a great learning. It has helped me build patience and become a good listener.”

SUTAPA MAITY

“FEA is doing an excellent job by providing with English learning exposure to the young students of India where English is the second language. I admire the philanthropy of FEA. I admire the FEA teachers who are motivating the students & are trying to bring the best out of those students. The students are hardworking & motivated. With the above three values they could go anywhere they chose to go. Only the sky is the limit. I wish FEA with continued success”

Raghavendra B R

“Being a Mentor is more important than ever-and you will get more out of the relationship than you think is my personal experience. My role focuses on mentoring as a relationship rather than a role with a set of preconceived duties. The journey involves the building of an equal relationship characterized by trust, the sharing of expertise, moral support, reliability and knowing when to help and when to sit back. It focuses on practicing many work and life skills like Self Awareness, Time Management, Motivation, Influencing, Decision Making, Empathy, Problem Solving, and Managing Emotions. As a Mentor I learned that problem solving, not just with my Mentee, but at every level of one’s life, one should be supportive, encouraging, reflective and should reinforce for successful completion of the solution identified. Once solved, the results should be celebrated thereafter. Thank you FEA for providing this platform. I wish all the best success and enriching experience to all.”

Kavita Kakkad

“My experience with FEA students has been wonderful and enriching! Each batch is full of students that are talented, ambitious, and interesting. It’s been rewarding to talk with them, as I’ve realized that sharing my life experiences and observations can be helpful to the younger generation! FEA has designed an excellent program to help the underprivileged students in India and their guidance for mentors is highly appreciated. I applaud FEA for their efforts and will continue to support them in the future.”

Vineeta Tanwar

"I believe FEA is an epitome of meaningfulness and motivation for all those who are associated with it. Three years ago, when I started mentoring sessions, little I knew how it’s going to be like. But the journey to date is much more than that. FEA students have big ambitions, and they don’t see their social or financial status as a limitation to achieve their goals. The mentoring experience is tremendously fulfilling and the love and respect I received in return is beyond imagination. For me, it has become a mission now to work with young minds to help them understand that the right choices they make today will make a difference tomorrow, which will eventually break the vicious circle of poverty and unemployment. For me, mentoring is a two-way process where both mentor and mentee learn and progress together. I wish FEA continued success!"

Subodh Mathur

As an economist, I find that FEA’s mentor program has a much higher benefit-cost ratio than I have seen anywhere; the benefits to the students are very high while the costs to me as a mentor are minimal. As a teacher, it has been a pleasure to work with students whom I don’t have to teach – I just guide them to learn on their own. As an Indian, it is so heartening to get to know hardworking, motivated young people who are looking to get ahead – India cannot get ahead unless they do. FEA – you are doing a great job!

Amit Shah

Mentoring at FEA has been the most satisfying and fulfilling work of my life. It’s a low-cost-high dividend exercise. I offer encouragement, guidance, tips and strategies about life skills, speaking, writing, presentations, decision-making, planning for eventualities, and broadening of horizons. The students are the future of India, the largest single demographic. They must do better than their parents for India to progress. The rewards for me as a mentor are almost immediate. By session 5, the last session, they are eager, prepared, and energized. Their thirst of learning is apparent. It’s a win-win.

Anushka Jayasankar

Mentoring is an extremely uplifting experience both for the mentor and mentee as learning is purely in the form of experiences shared, and it really opens the mind to different situations of life for both parties. I am grateful to FEA for providing a safe space for students to express themselves and understand their strengths and areas of development, as well as provide the ideal resources to make them realize the best version of themselves. It gives me utmost joy and fulfillment to build relationships with these students and be part of their growth trajectory!

Riddhi Jain

Being a career mentor for FEA has been an incredible journey of personal growth and inspiration. While I thought I was ‘giving back’ by sharing my knowledge and experience, in reality, I was the one who received much more from my mentees. Their unwavering optimism and never-give-up attitude in the face of overwhelming odds have left a profound impact on me. I am so inspired by their eagerness to learn and break the mold, especially considering that they don't always have access to the same opportunities as others. I am honoured to have been a part of their growth journey and am grateful for the trust my mentees have bestowed on me. FEA is truly changing lives, one child at a time, and I am proud to be a part of this incredible organisation.

Atreyee Saha

I have been mentoring underprivileged Indian youths through FEA since the beginning of 2020. The experience remained very fulfilling. Despite the virtual setup, my goal remains to interact with individual students, and FEA facilitators play an important part in this. The love and enthusiasm I receive from my students continue to be the driving force behind my volunteering, despite many challenges. I thank the FEA team for their well-organized efforts.

Sandeep Upadhyay

I applaud FEA India for its mission to provide equitable economic opportunities to all. As a mentor, I have had the privilege of working with two batches and a third one is underway. I was genuinely impressed by the students’ infectious energy, enthusiasm, and motivation, even during early morning sessions. The experience was energizing as I addressed their queries and inspired them to carve their own career paths. I wholeheartedly recommend the mentorship program to working professionals who wish to make a meaningful social impact
